By popular request Kult of Athena commissioned a special production run of this sword which had been out of production by Windlass Steelcrafts. This popular model has now finally been brought back for new and established collectors alike!

This late 14th to early 15th century bastard sword by Windlass Steelcrafts is based on an original sword in the collection of the the MET in New York and takes it name from the 1422 Battle of Arbedo - a costly victory for the Duchy of Milan against the Swiss. The blade is forged from 1065 high carbon steel and it is stoutly peened into a hilt with a steel crossguard and pommel. The tang is rectangular in shape - a form that is significantly less likely to rotate within the hilt and its large peen over the disk pommel gives the tang a solid mounting into the hilt. The well-contoured grip is wood with a tightly stitched binding of leather. The sword is paired with a companion scabbard of leather with a steel fittings.

A responsive sword, the Arbedo can be ably used both single-handedly and with two hands. The waisted grip accommodates a second hand and its tapered form ensures that it is not awkward to use when a single-handed grip is employed. The disk pommel can also fit well within the palm of the second hand for use with a modified second hand grip. Thus this versatile blend lends itself well to a array of hand grip styles and fighting forms - in skilled hands a warrior can switch between one and two handed techniques to best adapt to his situation and confound opponents.
