The Medieval Bar Mace is based on a weapon of this type found in the River Thames, though it saw use through out Europe. Little finesse was needed for this brutal mace, and a warrior strong enough to wield it could crush helms and break swords with the heavy blows it could deliver. Made from four bars of carbon steel with a wood and leather grip and a large steel pommel to help balance it, this is indeed an awesome weapon.

Solid Steel This is thee first item I’ve purchased here at K.O.A. This mace is impressive. Weaklings need not purchase this item. You need some strong arms to swing this thing. The leather handle is wrapped well and seems to be made very well. Like I said before I was very impressed with this mace and it sorta hooked me on this site. Everything ive bought from K.O.A. is well made and very durable.

Not bad for the price All in all, it’s a pretty sweet mace. It’s heavy enough that holding it to admire and give a few test swings will give you a workout. You could probably smash cinderblocks with this thing. The handle is wrapped well and I like the leather thong (though I wouldn’t imagine relying on it, given the weight of the mace). It also came oiled, which is nice.
I would’ve given 5 stars, but it came with a small chunk missing from the edge of one of the blades (is that the right term?) with black in it, which looks like a manufacturing defect plus corrosion. There’s also a bit more black corrosion a couple inches away from that spot. It’s not so bad I’d immediately return it, but well, these things are made on the cheap in India and sold fairly cheap.
This isn’t the first item I’ve order from KoA, and it’s not likely to be the last. I’d still very much recommend this mace, just with the caveat that this is a cheap bruiser of a mace. The minor defect strikes me as less of a concern that having a hollow stainless steel shaft like on the even cheaper maces.

overall impressive, solid, and terrifying. that said the finishing work left the flanges uneven with varying thickness that can be seen and felt. the general feel is solid, but the welding looks like it was hastily done, and then dressed/cleaned poorly with a grinder. there are several pits left in the product that was sent to me that show a lack of cohesion in some of the welds, paired with phoned in finish work. am i disappointed? not enough to send it back as it’s intended purpose shouldn’t be effected by these defects. it’s equal to buying a new car that someone forgot to paint a fender. doesn’t effect use, but i paid for something that looks rushed and unfinished. (side note, nobody on the opposing side of this death club will notice the pits, or give a d@#n about uniformed flange width whilst they defecate in their undergarments as this mace gets hurled in their direction)

      overall….. it will keel.
