This 2nd Century Roman Spatha has a broad and dual-fullered blade of high carbon steel which is securely mounted into a hilt of carved wood with brass accents and a brass guard plate. Included with the sword is a wooden scabbard which is overlaid in high quality leather and finished with brass fittings, including a dome-shaped chape piece which is etched with different design on both sides. Integrated onto the scabbard is a brass suspension loop which can be used to hang the sword from your own baldric or sword belt.

Very aesthetically pleasing, especially with the sheath. Be warned though, this thing is a monster. It is very heavy and it takes a huge amount of wrist strength to hold, let alone to wield. The hilt is quite thin and the flares in the wood right above the hand are pretty painful. This plus its sheer weight makes it fairly uncomfortable to wield, at least if you try to put much finesse behind it. However if you sand down those pieces, have very strong wrists, and/or wear gloves, none of that should be too much of an issue. I will say that the wood of the hilt is a bit paler than depicted in the images, but it is still very cool looking. I think the images actually do a disservice to the sheath, the leather is darker and higher quality than it looks here.
