The Balteus or Cingulum was an ornamented belt worn by roman soldiers. They seem to have been largely personalized as a wide variety of bronze or tin plates and medallions of various designs and symbols have been found. A valuable possession, the Balteus was not entirely decorative, as it was used to help support the weight of armor and suspended the Pugio sidearm dagger. An apron, adorned with medallions serves as a groin guard.

This Balteus, made by Deepeeka, has been made from strips of leather with brass medallions riveted in place. It is attached to a wide leather Roman Belt with riveted square brass plates. There are two anchor points for the attachment of a Pugio dagger.
