This Roman Cingulum, or Balteus, has a wide and thick belt of brown leather fitted with riveted metal plates and a matching metal buckle. It has two disc-like anchor points that can be used to fit a Pugio dagger to the belt. The belt comes with a leather cord wrapped around the belt that could be untied and used to tie the scabbard of the Pugio. The belt is adjustable and the inside of the belt is lined with brown suede leather to protect your tunic from being damaged by the plate rivets.

The plated Roman belt is not simply a decorative item; it was used to help support the weight of the soldiers armor and a point where he could tie some of his supplies to – most notably his Pugio dagger.

This belt is based on an original found in Tekjie, Serbia – then the Roman province of Pannonia.
