This is the Gothic Style half-wire grip option of the Munich sword. Selecting this option will have the bottom half of the grip tightly wrapped with wire. The upper grip will have a cross-hatched leather design. This sword is inspired by the beautiful long sword in the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum in Munich, Germany, that Peter Johnsson has documented thoroughly.

The Munich has a hand ground high carbon steel blade is tempered for flexibility and edge retention. The crossguard and pommel are cast from mild steel. The grip is cord-wrapped wood fitted over with tight leather.

The sword grip comes in a selection of colors, please select an option below. Some like to place period coins, religious symbols or heraldry markers inside the pommel recess. The dimension of the recess are: width: 0.85″, depth: 0.292″.

Near Sword Pertection This may be Albions finest Sword to date. The balance , fit and function are so very nice. The balance of this is superb. This is the one sword that everyone that has a collection must have. I’m not a fanboy of Albion but they no doubt got this right. The hard part is the wait for it.

An outstanding sword in every aspect. It handles beautifully, cuts better than expected, provides tons of sword wind, and the point is easy to deliver wherever you want. Albion really did nail this sword. My only quibble with the sword is how much extra the Gothic option costs.
