This Two-Handed Maciejowski Bible Falchion crafted by Marshal Historical has a high carbon steel blade; the grip is formed with two wooden halves riveted to the blade tang.

A larger two-handed chopper-like falchion is depicted in the 13th Century Maciejowski illuminated bible; from these depictions Marshal Historical has made a version of this unique weapon. It is not known conclusively as to whether such weapons truly existed or are merely a flight of an illuminatorís fancy, but it is depicted in the company of other arms and armor for which examples have survived.

The blade of this weapon is clearly designed to deliver harrowing chops and hacks - the wider blade tip ensures that there is plenty of mass to drive the blade through its target. It is certainly an ominous looking weapon design with a limb-shearing bite to match.

A long grip gives the wielder plenty of leverage to counteract the blade to ensure that it remains agile enough to be a dedicated weapon and not simply an improvised agricultural tool. Due to its long grip and relatively short blade for a two-handed weapon, this recreation by Marshal Historical of this falchion does not feel overly heavy.

Please Note: The wood used for the grip halves and the stain used to finish them can vary. Dimensions such as blade or grip length can also vary.
