Cutlery in the medieval era was a personal item and rarely supplied by a host – most people kept their eating utensils on their person, ready for wherever they would have their next meal. The fork was the latest addition, coming into widespread use in Europe only in the Renaissance. Though the fork was used as early as the 11th century in Italy, its adoption was slowed in Northern Europe, where the fork was long considered an unmanly Italian dalliance. In the meantime, Northern Europeans used their knives, eating picks or hands in place of the fork.

This medieval utensil set is hand-forged from stainless steel that has been blackened for a forged appearance. The knife is beveled to a thin cutting edge which is slightly sharp. The utensils come with a leather sheath with a belt loop and button to secure the tableware.

Wonderful Given to me as a gift – beautiful pieces. Exactly as shown.

Awesome product! These are great. The fork and knife are sharp and the spoon is large and serviceable. The only thing I can nitpick about is that the sheathe is pictured as brown but mine was black. Not a deal breaker but I wasn’t expecting it.

Same thing as the GDFB I bought this one and the other eating set made by GDFB. Exact same set, only difference is the scabbard holder thingy. EXACT same utensils.

      Good quality stuff.

Excellent set. I use this set to eat with at work. Not only is it more than functional, it is a conversation piece. Highly recommended.
