This elegant, late 15th Century helm is perhaps the most refined and skillful execution of the kettle hat. Simple, yet highly protective, this helm is modeled after an historical example contained in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY. Dating to about 1475, this late Medieval war helm would have been a type worn by the well-equipped pikemen and men-at-arms on the payroll of the wealthy Dukes of Burgundy. It offers the great protection from downward strikes and sky-falling arrows that the kettle helm affords, while not restricting the sight and hearing of the warrior, making him better able to fight cohesively with his comrades in the mass infantry formations of the time.

This Burgundian Fluted Helm is crafted from 14 gauge steel that has been riveted and welded. The interior has been blackened and is fitted with an integrated leather lining and suspension that has been strongly glued into place. It has an integrated chin strap with an adjustable buckle.

Burgundian kettle helm I love this helm! Great visibility, really. I can hear and breathe easily while wearing it, too.

This helm exceeded my expectations. I don’t know why anyone would ever need the “large” option. The “medium” is big enough, and this sits low on the head like this style of helm should.

Coupled with a bevor, you have an excellent amount of protection.

      Worth every penny!

Very disappointed in this helm. The measurements were almost identical to m viking helmet and I got the Large size to boot and I couldn’t even fit it on my head. I was excited to get this helm to complete my Ren Faire cosplay costume, hopefully I can send it back and exchange it for a different helmet that will fit. No mud slinging on my part since the previous 2 helmets were amazing and not an issue

The large was still a bit small. Very deep but little room for a head with added padding. The “integrated leather lining and suspension” was is cotton cloth. It does not work as suspension, more like a padded lining for the crown of the helmet. Planning on returning . Quality metal and good chin strap. Only buy if you have a small head
