Fabulous Deal! I bought this on a whim, thinking that, even if it was sub-par, I wouldn’t be out that much money in the long run. What a pleasant surprise! This thing is pretty darn good! Is it perfect? No. But it’s a nearly living history quality breastplate (and in steel heavier than 18ga for once!) for about a hundred bucks. It would be hard to find a better deal anywhere else.

    More items like this, please!

Amazing value for your money I was skeptical about the quality of this breastplate at first, but figured that at its price, I wouldnt be losing much if it did not work as expected. Not only is this breastplate sturdy, but the sliding rivet allows some much needed mobility to your general movement, making things such as sitting down far less cumbersome. 16 gauge is alright, and ehile it could be a little thicker in order to take less dents, this breastplate has survived swords, axes and hammers suprisingly well. For how much it costs, the value cant be beat.

Negatives: could do with a better fit, and you will have to make some of your own slight tweaks and modifications to get it to fit perfectly, nothing deal breaking, but extra pressure on the shoulders is an example.

Please note that there is no backplate included with this breastplate.

Pretty good. Putting together a hodgepodge of armor for some fighting and as such we’ve been modifying it a bit to make it fit my large frame. We did have to spread the armor a bit to make it a larger size and we also hit the edges to knock down some of the sharp points. For the price this is an excellent purchase. Just keep in mind you might have to work it a bit to make it fit perfectly for you.

    Pretty nice chest piece.

TL;DR: shoulders are a little tight, straps needed adjusted. Fit slightly small. (I’m 6,1, 205 lbs) does not come with a back plate.

The chest, stomach, and waist all move up and down which allow for decent mobility. The metal is solid, makes me feel like a living tank. Other than some dirt spots on the inner folds it came in great condition. The chest piece fit a little small, I would recommend going a size up. I had to adjust the straps a little bit so the shoulders wouldn’t poke me. It does not come with a back plate which I knew before purchasing, I recommend getting one as it does look better.

Overall it is an incredible chest piece, I would recommend it as long as you are aware of these details.

Fit me perfectly out of the box, very heavy and solidly built.

for the price and quality, expecially the thickness, it cant be beat. very easily you can use it in multiple types of combat and it gives good frontal protection. all i would recomend is to use an arming doublet in place of a gambeson and be sure to clearly measure your size before you just make the purchase.

for the price and thickness of the plate it just cant be beat. came well oiled and in good polish. only downside to it i can find is the thickness of the leather straps are very thick and tricky in the buckles, but thats nothing to fret about. when buying, measure your chest while wearing an arming doublet carefully then check the size specks.

    Two words, “walking tank.”

This chest is fantastic looking, feeling, and durable. After taking several full force hits from a halberd, warhammer, and breaking a wooden baseball bat on it; I’ve concluded it’s pretty tough. There are better options available don’t get me wrong, but for my budget I couldn’t be happier. Thank you KOA!
