This sleekly serious katana from Musashi has hilt fittings which are uniformly black with a saya scabbard in black to match. The clay-tempered blade with an authentic hamon is forged from 1060 high carbon steel. The spine has a weight-reducing bo-hi groove which lightens the sword to emphasize speed and has the side effect of producing an audible whoosh as the blade cuts the air – the tachikaze.

The two-ring Musashi style tsuba is crafted from iron and the fuchi and kashira are blackened brass. The habaki and seppa are brass and the grip is wood with inlaid panels of rayskin knotted over with black cotton tsuka-ito cord.

The saya scabbard is wood with black lacquer and a black sageo cord.

A great sword for a good price, shipping to germany was a little expensive but thats to expect when ordering a katana from the USA, overall im ver happy with the purchase and the quality of the product.

Great sword for the price, everything is tight and stiff, the blade is nice and sharp, and the handle wrap is tight and comfortable. The only thing that might bother you is that the scabbard is basic wood and not so clean in the inside and sageo, the scabbard wrap, is loose and easy to move but its fine considering the price of the katana . It is a beautiful sword to display with a 1060 steel blade if you want to do some cutting. Amazing for the price and very happy with the product.

This is the second Musashi katana I received two hours ago, and it has the same quality as the first one, EXCELLENT!!
Thank you very much, for the quality of your swords you sell!!

These are great for the money, and unlike some budget brands, they use a subtle manufacturer’s stamp on the seppa, rather than a gaudy mark on the blade itself, maintaining the traditional aesthetic.

Structurally, the tsuka is very solidly constructed, and the blade has a good balance of toughness and edge holding, with a bo-hi to reduce mass. it’s the flagship of Musashi’s budget differentially hardened sword line for a very good reason.

The double ring tsuba is actually mild steel, so one doesn’t need to be concerned about a flakey mystery metal cast tsuba snapping under hard use or after accidental impacts.

Absolutely love mine! Its just for display at the moment but I love the fact that if I decide I want to do some cutting or some unfortunate walkers cross my path I have nothing to worry about. Will definitely be investing in more Musashi blades in the future.
