This spherical mace head can be used to create a light and swift-striking mace that connects with a target at high velocity and concentrates the force of the strike on its many ridged flanges for increased concussive effect. It is a historical design that was common to the 9th - 13th centuries and was used in Eastern Europe, particularly among warriors of the Rus and the Byzantine Empire.

From Tod Cutler of the UK this mace head is cast from solid bronze and is ready to be affixed and mounted to your own wooden haft.

Please Note: We do sell short, hardwood Ash poles which can be used to make a haft for this mace. They do not fit the socket automatically and will require some tapering and shaping of the haft to get a good fit.
