This large Khukuri is designed and balanced for throwing. It has a blade of high carbon steel with a hardness of 58-60 HRC at the edge, a mid-section of 45-46 HRC and a spine of 22-25 HRC. This optimizes the blade so that it can keep a hard edge that will resist dulling too easily and a softer spine and mid-section to give the blade some flex and shock absorption.

The bolster and pommel cap are of steel and the full tang is surmounted by carved wooden halves which have been solidly riveted to the tang to create the grip. A lanyard is fitted to the grip of the Kukri.

This Kukri is accompanied by a Karda utility knife and a Chakmak sharpening tool; these are the two traditional companion knives of the Khukuri. The Kukri sheath is made from pinewood and traditional Laha glue. It is overlaid with black leather and fitted with a protective steel chape and a pair of belt loops. It has two compartments in the back to fit the two small utility knives.

Please Note: The scabbard belt loop and scabbard holder may either be made from rawhide or standard leather.

Great blade worth the $90 The blade is burly by every definition. Thick and huge spine. This thing was designed to destroy. The designs on the blade are cool and the handle feels great in the hand. Very smooth and refined rosewood perhaps? Scabbard is equally robust. Made of thick wood and constructed very solidly. I only took off one star since the blade was not sharp (as advertised) by any stretch of the imagination. The smaller “Karda” was equally dull. Not a big deal for the work sharp ken onion edition but still, I feel that the blades should be sharp if they are advertised that way. Regardless, I understand this is the nature of ordering swords online so not a big issue. KoA sent it to me blazing fast and in time for my birthday as well. Didn’t even expect that ha. Will definitely order from KoA in the future.

wicked blade bought this as a bday present for myself thing practically came dull as a club but with some TLC from my arkanas stone, the blade is now sharp and the edge is remarkably tough in fact the hole design is. metal tip on the scabbard fell off but super glue fixed that.

review part II almost 6 months later knife is still holding up perfectly ive chopped through thick underbrush and saplings this thing is a beast the metal tip still falls off no amount of super glue can fix. havent really taken a shine to the scabbard fits too loosely inside for my tastes. but still would highly recommend this to anyone who likes massive knives
