Standing in Eastern Europe, Hungary was often warring with both the west and east. Though a western type feudal state, they were also alternately allied and at war with Byzantium too. This abundance of cultural exposure was echoed in their weapons. The eastern influence shows well in this heavy saber, capable of powerful blows from horseback or foot. The short guard and large pommel are both brass and the grip is wood covered in leather. The blade is unsharpened and made of tempered carbon steel. Includes a leather scabbard with brass accents.

A great sturdy sword for the money I purchased this sword dull and put an edge on myself. So far i find this to be a pretty solid built sword. like advertised this sword is capable of powerful blows when used correctly i struck a stump full force several times to check for looseness in the grip or hilt everything is still tight i would say fit and finish are good. Needless to say this smashes through water bottles with no problem

Windlass Hungarian saber I have so far found no fault in this saber it remains tight in the hilt the handle even after slashing some pretty heavy targets. I bought the sword dull and did my own sharpening it is capable of powerful blows and i would have no reservations carrying this into battle.

Pummel and crossguard loosened I bought this soon. Was very excited bcz this was my first real sword. I was cutting bottles with my friends and felt a noise upon further inspection found that the pummel and the guard were loosened. The point was also too weak it ended up bending. The sheath is bad leaves residue every time u take it out. The sword feels too heavy and isn’t balanced properly. Recommend u look for something else

In a word: Solid While not without some faults, there is a lot to like here, especially for the price.

      The Good:
      Very Sturdy Blade
      Tight Fit
Unique Weapon Type (Haven’t seen this style of saber anywhere else)
Scabbard Included (Also holds blade firm, no rattle)

      The Bad:
Finish on the Handle Somewhat Rough
Finish on the Scabbard Somewhat Rough
      A Tad Heavier than Nessecary

      Summary:
This sword cuts costs in all the right places. The sword is a tad heavier than need be, but that’s because the swords spine is very thick and sturdy. This blade is very unlikely to bend or break with use. The handles finish is a bit rough, with very noticeable welding on the pommel, and small amounts of welding on the guard, however, the tight fit of the handle more than makes up for it in my opinion. I’d much rather have a slight cosmetic mark that a rattling guard. The scabbard’s notches are cut out a bit rough, leading to a somewhat awkward alignment….but, its an included scabbard that holds the blade nice and tight. Overall, while the sword is no masterpiece, it is an excellent choice for the price. You’re not getting a work of art, but you are getting a competently made and sturdy sword. While I’d probably give it a 4 if it cost $200, for just over $150, I think this piece earns its 5 stars.
