The Heavenly Horse Cavalry Han Dao by LK Chen is an near-exacting 1:1 recreation of a classic Han military Cavalry Dao; a design seen from the Middle of the Han Dynasty and into the 3 Kingdoms period and it featured particularly in the Han-Xiongnu War. Care was taken to ensure that this replica closely replicates the dimensions, weight and balance of originals that were borne into battle by Han warriors of 2000 years ago.

The blade is skillfully forged from 1065 and T8 high carbon steel which were folded into a single blade by the skilled swordsmith. The sharpened blade has a tempered hardness of 58 HRc. The surprisingly complex blade design of this Dao has excess weight reduced with a long fuller groove to lighten the blade without significant loss to durability. In character with Han originals the blade has a shallow inward curve along its cutting edge and a subtle upward sweep at the tip.

The grip is crafted from wood and bound in tight red cord; the pommel ring is blackened steel and the bolster is cast brass. Included with the sword is a wooden scabbard with matching brass fittings.

Please note: Scabbard may some minor cosmetic blemishes such as scuffs and indentations.

Infantry & Cavalry Han Dao by LK Chen - Pros & Cons...

1 review for LK Chen – Heavenly Horse – Cavalry Han Dao

    1. Eric Vigen (verified owner)

This one did surprise me. I have the smaller one the Royal Arsenal Dao, but this one is while on the same lines,, quite a nice Dao. Fit and finish are excellent. It came very sharp. LK has a video comparing it to a 1860 Cavalry Sabre and this one is better in his video. Can actually believe that, KOA service is truly top notch. Well worth the money,,
