This Crusader Tabard is made from roughly woven cotton tabard to give it an authentic, historic appearance. The tabard is made from two layers of fabric – the outer layer is a looser weave to give the appearance of a handcrafted woven textile, the inner layer is a tighter weave to act as a strong backing to strengthen the tabard.

Due to its light material and loose weave, this tabard is more breathable than most tunics – a fitting tunic for a Templar Knight fighting in the hot lands of the Levant. The red cross is sewn, not printed onto the tabard for a more authentic look.

Please Note: Gambeson and Belt are for demonstration purposes only and are not included

Great tabard for the price. This tabard is well made and looks great with the rest of my kit. The cotton has a natural look that lends an air of authenticity to it. I recommend this for any one going for the crusader look.

Good Surcoat This surpassed my expectations. I was surprised that my mail felt better with this as it more touch friendlier than the mail, that isn’t to say there is anything wrong with my mail. I notice no heat build up with this, that is something that I worried about as I live in the tropics. And it is quite light weight. I like the weave, one of the main reason I purchased it. On the down side, and this seems to be true with about all mass produced surcoats, and that is I don’t believe it’s colour fast and I am not about to test to see. Washing it is the least of my worries because that is something that I can control. Getting caught in a rain is what bothers me. I like St. George’s Cross as it add colour and reminds me of my British heritage. However, if I had my rathers I’d rather it not be there but I couldn’t find a white, OK off white, surcoat without some sort if decoration.

This tabard is very well made and has an authentic look. Watch the size so you can fit a gambeson and mail underneath. Overall what you get for the price is excellent.
