The arms are one of the more vulnerable parts of the body in a medieval melee, particularly where multiple combatants are concerned. The arm must extend to strike, but that is when it is open to a counterattack.

These black cotton bracers give comfortable protection to the forearm. The thick cotton protects against light slashes and cuts and gives some protection from blunt force strikes. The bracers are affixed to the arms with a black cord.

Very Cheap, Very Good The cloth is thick and heavy, and it’s very well padded. The strings could be a bit longer, because they tend to get pulled out of their holes when you try to put the bracer over your arm. You’ll almost definitely need someone else to help you get them on. Very good!

Good Value The description of these bracers is misleading as the only mention of material in the ad is cotton. The label states usage of cotton, wool, polyester, acrylic, and other. The laces are too short in the extreme, not anything like in the photo. The label also contains six symbols; I assume are instructions, that I have no idea of the significance. Contrary to the forgoing I like these and definitely have a need that they will fill nicely and worth the price, just can’t give it five stars in light of that. I can put these on myself without the aid of others helping. The trick is to discard the laces, which in my case were useless, place on forearm. I then secured with two black rubber loops per arm that I made for my slingshot to hold in place while I secured vambraces over the padded armour and tightened. Works like a champ.
