The Zulu ”Iklwa” is the famous short shafted, large bladed spear that carved out one of the greatest early African nations. Used with a cowhide shield this spear, sized for a deadly underhand stabbing fighting style, is said to be named for the sound it made as it entered the enemy. Features an unsharpened high carbon tempered steel head, brass wire reinforced socket and a wood shaft.

A Battle Worthy Zulu Short Spear I received my Zulu Short Spear Yesterday. Wow!!! this is the real deal. Unlike other manki Zulu spear replicas this spear is worthy of battle or hunting. Its built very stout and the spear head (tip of the spear) is one piece strong and scary with a good point on it. Im glad I didn’t order the sharpened version because it would be a downright dangerous weapon. I would have to lock it up instead of display it. You could definitely kill a wild pig at close range hands down with this spear. That blade well sharpened would pack some serious stopping power. I felt I really got my moneys worth.

Good buy It worked great as a sparing weapon. Really opened up my experience with short spear fighting. Very versatile for slashing and stabbing. However, after a few months of sparing the Spearhead broke right below the beginning of the blade. I was surprised and displeased. However, worth the money.

Only one rivet There was only one rivet in the spear head, which makes it horribly weak. When it arrived the spear head was loose and rattled, so i did some test thrusts with the spear to see if it would get worse and it did, not battle ready, only a decorative piece
