Designed by noted sword smith Michael ”Tinker” Pearce and manufacutered by Hanwei, these medieval swords have been are made to satisfy the need of every Western Martial Arts practitioner and sword enthusiast, to have a matching set of sharp and blunt swords for cutting and safe training practice. The swords meet Tinker`s exacting quality requirements and are built in much the same way as his custom pieces. Each blade is forged from 5160 Spring Steel, Marquenched to the desired hardness of 50-53 Hrc while the tang is drawn back to the low 30s Hrc. Hanwei Tinker Pearce Blunted Single Hand Sword this is the perfect sword for any sword and buckler or single sword work.

it is light, responsive and is a joy to use.

i did find the handle to be to thin for my meaty hands.being at the whole sword disassembles, it took me a few hours to make a new handle

      highly recommended

Great sword The desing is made for thrusting as much as cuting and fits for the swordplay of the I.33 Manuscript.

The balance is fine, not as good as i expected ir but still way beyond most swords in this price range and also some above.

It looks very plain and appears cheap, through once you pic it up you can feel the quality!

I can only recomend it for everyone with intrest in historical swordfighting.

    3. Thorien K.

Solid, affordable piece. This was my first sword and I have no issues about it. It is affordable, simplistic but elegant, not overbuilt, handles adequately for blade length and type. It’s not too sharp on arrival, still can cut bottles but for more serious work you will have to sharpen it. Pommel and guard will start to rust if you keep it in damp-y room but that was to be expected from spring steel. Easy recommendation.

Superb! Strong, light, well-balanced! We have a couple of Tinker swords in use in my HEMA (Adria) group and are very satisfied.

This is an innovative design in terms of materials. The fact that blades may be replaced using screw recessed in pommel is major since any blade used in live steel fighting is subject top failure p by far the most demanding application for a sword.

This is a fantastic sword for the price range. It has a nice weight and is pretty nicely balanced. You could replace a damaged blade with ease. Overall, It’s a great beginner sword, and I would recommend you buy it.

It’s solidly built and has a good weight and balance. I do like the nut construction to make it easy to disassemble for maintenance. Overall, it’s a good, utilitarian choice for practice, especially considering the low price point.

The main issue I have is that the hilt is skinny. It could use more material on the sides along the flat of the blade to fit the hand better. It does feel a bit loose in the hand. But, since it is a nut construction, you can swap out the hilt.

I have this sword as the primary for my cut & thrust kit and it has been an exceptional blade for MS I:33. The balance is great, sitting about 4 inches before the guard. The pivot point lies about 1/3 back from the tip making the sword responsive and nimble for its size. Its flex is slight and just qualifies for SCA C&T, keeping in mind that blades are individual, you mileage my very. The steel holds up well to blade on blade contact. The bright finish of the furniture on sword and scabbard are prone to scratches with medium to strong contact. The pommel is simple but well finished with no rough edges and held in place by an Alan screw making maintenance easy. Watch this area to ensure it remains secure after sparring. On the scabbard, it is definitely a no-frills leather over wood core and sufficient to the task with mouth covering the hilt securely when in place. I would highly recommend this sword for anyone starting out their journey in C&T and MS I:33.
