This simple, one-handed sword with its tapered blade is most akin to the Arming swords of medieval Europe. Utilitarian weapons, these swords were often carried by archers and crossbowmen in the later Medieval period so that they could defend themselves when attacked or when ordered to wade into the melee. It was also a common second weapon for halberdiers and pikemen to fall back on should their tight formations be disrupted or their foe had closed the distance too closely.

Made by Deepeeka, this sword has a high carbon steel blade. The hilt fittings are steel and the grip is tightly wrapped in brown leather cord. It comes with a wood-core scabbard covered in light brown leather and affixed with a wooden suspension loop.

Good for the price – Know what to expect! I purchased this sword a few years ago and have been very satisfied with it. It is relatively blade-heavy, but durable and easy enough to handle in one hand. In fact, the weight makes it very useful for practice. I started my collection with this sword, and would recommend it to beginners mainly because I’d rather make any sharpening or handling mistakes with THIS sword than a more expensive one. The blade is flexible and holds an edge reasonably well; and the sword itself is durable enough. The pommel is peened as advertised, but the wooden halves of the handle are actually screwed together through the tang. This hasn’t caused any problems in over 2 years except the screws come loose, causing the handle to rattle. They are screws, though, so it’s a very easy fix. Scabbard is of good quality, and a nice addition for such an affordable sword! Keep your expectations in check, and this is a very good sword to start with.

I am a beginner to sword use and review. I bought this sword as a sparing sword and as a every day carry weapon. (Legal with weapons carry license in the state of Georgia) I absolutely love it. It’s solid and I have had no issues with it. I have no experience with high end swords but to me it feels great in the hand. I’d give 5 stars but I don’t believe perfection is real.
