This Rapier pairs the Pappenheim-style hilt with the wider, transitional rapier blade that is suitable for both cutting and thrusting. The blade is forged from high carbon steel and the complex hilt is mild steel. The shell guard is backed with red velvet and the wooden grip is tightly bound in twisted steel wire. A felt tab atop the guard protects it from contact with the scabbard.

The companion scabbard is crafted from wood and overlaid in black leather. The protective chape and locket are of steel.

A “functional wallhanger” I bought this sword expecting it to be a functional weapon. Upon recieving it, i noticed just how flimsy the blade really is. It wobbles WAY too much to be a decent cutter, and it is rather blade heavy, making the point drop downward when held with the flat facing up.

It IS a high carbon steel, and will hold a decent edge (should you put one on it), but im going to be sending mine back.

This is heavy compared to other designs I have purchased. However, the blades are very smooth and without strange bends or waves. It needs a scratch test video to determine hardness. Because of the weight I would definitely use it for the unfortunate event I were to fight fully armored knights without bearing my own plates.

Wonderful blade symmetry and uniformity. Great distribution near hilt for the diameter of the blade. Thick handle- helps to have longish fingers. It really handles nicely, like similarly priced swords from well known names.
