This set of splinted and brigandine composite arm armor is designed and built for hard contact HMB medieval sport fighting. The armor for each arm consists of three separate parts and when all are worn together they offer comprehensive protection for the arms and elbows.
The armor for the upper and lower arms is a combination brigandine and splinted construction. On the exterior of the armor strips of splinted plate lames are solidly riveted into place. On the reverse are brigandine plate lames which are riveted on the inside of the armor and these alternate their position with the splinted plates on the outside. These plates are all made from 0.8 – 1 mm thick tempered spring steel which provides excellent protection without adding great weight. The backing and frame for these armor pieces is made from sturdy canvas with an exterior of thick and durable black wool. A set of strong steel buckles with matched adjustable straps of thick leather don these pieces to the arm and adjust their fit.
The elbow couters provide solid protection and are crafted from 18-19 gauge tempered spring steel. They are donned and adjusted to fit to the arm with an internal steel buckle and leather strap.
To secure all the armor into position there is a set of reinforced eyelets on both the top and bottom of the upper arm armor which allow for armor to tied and secured – lacing for this purpose is not included. The upper set can be used to lace and secure the armor to your arming garment or other parts of armor. The lower set of eyelets can be used to either anchor it to your padded armor beneath or used to connect it to the elbow couter to ensure that the couter does not slip down the arm. A pair of eyelets on the upper part of the forearm armor can be used to tie this section of the armor down to your padded arming garment. Lacing cords are not included.
Please Note: The elbow couters may or may not have holes in them to facilitate lacing to an arming garment. The manufacturer can be inconsistent on the inclusion of this feature.

1 piece had some surface rust on it. Came off with a green pad pretty easily. All is good now fit great and look good. If they are like the legs I got I’m sure they will work great to. Can’t wait to use them.
