This set of Black Baron Gauntlets is crafted from robust 16 gauge blued steel which is richly adorned with contrasting riveted brass trim and detailing; the gauntlets are well articulated and allow for a wide range of hand and finger movement. The raised pyramidal knuckles and brass spikes allow for the wearer to deliver jaw-crushing blows in the midst of a pell-mell medieval melee. With these gauntlets on hand a warrior is never truly disarmed.

An integrated suede leather glove within the gauntlet fits the hand and is backed with stitched protective leather to prevent it from chafing with the finger plates. The gauntlet is sized to fit a size Large hand.

Please Note: It is common for this item to have scratches, small indentations and spots of dried oil on the steel and brass, as well as light pitting or light rust in recessed areas.

Great looking gauntlets, at a reasonable price. Before I continue, I should mention my hands are on the larger side. I would expect a tough time finding any no custom gauntlet to fit like a glove. They are far from comfortable and don’t allow me to fully close my hand. I can’t be sure if it’s due to the sizing or the way the fingers are articulated. This may be a concern for anyone who is doing reenactments with a weapon in hand. They look fantastic as a display piece and may be comfortable for someone who didn’t have XL hands.

These are well made for the price. They allow for good wrist mobility and protection. They are not light weight. They remind the wearer that a knight was a lethal machine even without a sword, pole axe, dagger or mace. Getting punched in the face by a gauntleted fist would pretty much be the end of an unarmored opponent. Now the the issues: The fingers are almost all the same length making for a bit of a clumsy grip. and the top of the gauntlet that covers the back of the hand has a contour on it that, at least for me, can jam into the knuckle of my index fingers. Other than that they are pretty darn nice for a relatively cheap price.
