The Burgundian Sallet was a very common helmet to the late Medieval man-at-arms and it is frequently depicted in Burgundian and French tapestries and manuscripts. Though these forms of art have memorialized this helmet it was also a very common helm in England as well. This replica is crafted from 16 gauge steel and its separate brow plate has some minor articulation whilst the neck plate has more considerable articulation which ensures it does not constrict the movement of the neck.

The interior has an integrated and adjustable suspension liner of durable canvas cotton and a chin strap of durable leather with an adjustable brass buckle to fasten and secure the helmet to the head.

The form of the Burgundian Sallet gives excellent overall protection for the head whilst leaving vision and breathing unobstructed. Period art often depicts these helmets on professional soldiery and its form is well-suited for the chaotic rigors of massed combat where fine coordination and communication between groups of soldiers is needed.
