The Wolf Wakizashi is a masterly crafted companion sword for the Citadel Wolf Katana, or a fine sword on its own with a quality that will make it the focal point of a collection. This sword blends the classic Wakizashi silhouette with innovative flair, cutting-edge blade design, and a vision that culminates in a sleek, elegant, and swift-striking weapon. Limited to just 100 pieces worldwide, this exclusive sword embodies a striking wolf motif, showcased in its meticulously laser-cut, mirror-polished iron tsuba. Perfectly balanced, it feels nimble and responsive in the hand, yet wields an air of intent and precision. The blade boasts a pronounced bohi groove, refined distal taper, and a unique cross-sectional taper from its midpoint to the spine—a labor-intensive detail that sheds excess weight to achieve a fine performance balance.

Forged from DNH7 High Carbon Steel, the blade bears a vivid and genuine hamon line as a testament to its traditionally executed differential tempering. Its sharp, crystalline martensite edge at 60 HRc is  paired with a more resilient 40 HRc spine to cushion impacts. Painstakingly hand-polished with traditional stones and powders, the blade gleams with a finish that accentuates the hamon’s full splendor.

The iron tsuba, laser-cut and hand-finished, shimmers with iridescent tones with each one given special attention to ensure a flawless fit to the blade. The fuchi and kashira echo this iron craftsmanship while the habaki—a lustrous polished copper—melds with the shape of the blade and even seamlessly aligns with the contours of bohi groove in a display of extraordinary artistry and painstaking patience. Silver seppa provide a striking contrast, harmonizing with the full koshirae ensemble.

The tsuka, carved from wood, is custom-shaped to the nakago tang for a tight, friction-fit assembly, secured by robust mekugi pegs. Wrapped in premium antique-finished rayskin same-gawa—a rarity among katanas—it is overlaid with rich brown suede leather for a luxurious grip. The saya, sculpted from wood, sports a satin-to-gloss brown lacquer finish with silver highlights, meticulously fitted to the sword. A buffalo horn koiguchi graces the scabbard’s mouth, expertly carved for a snug embrace.

Accompanying the sword is a high quality black cloth bag plus a padded, zippered nylon carry bag with a shoulder strap and external pocket. Inside, you’ll find a premium black silk sageo cord, a manufacturer’s certificate, and spare bamboo mekugi pegs to create ea complete package for this exceptional sword.
