The Crusader Long Sword features an unsharpened carbon steel blade with central fuller. The grip is wood wrapped in braided brown leather and flanked with a solid brass guard and octagonal pommel. Both the pommel and the points of the guard are emblazoned with an enameled red cross. Includes a black and brown leather scabbard with waist belt.

Although ”battle ready” by virtue of the type of steel and construction, Deepeeka’s swords are very thick and quite blade heavy. As a result they can be very difficult to sharpen into good cutting swords. They are better suited to display, collecting and reenactment.

Cool sword The third sword I got for my collection. I actually found it at a store in Sacramento, CA at Evangeline’s. It definitely is heavy for a one handed sword. Despite this being called a long sword, it only has room for one hand. If you want to murder stroke with it, though then go right ahead, it will deal severe damage that way. Despite this being more as a decorative piece, I would like to try my hand at sharpening it. Would a worksharp tool work possibly?

Very satisfied with this order. What really sold me was that it came with a scabbard. Sure, the quality of the “leather” and metal of the sword isn’t $1,000 material, but I didn’t pay for that much either. For the price I paid, I am very, very satisfied.

Granted, I don’t LARP or anything and I don’t really bring it outside the house so I’m not sure how it would hold up if you’re dropping all the time and whacking at villains. For what I need it for, which is for decoration and the occasional costume party, it is perfect.

All in all you get what you pay for. On one hand, this sword is nicely balanced and very solid with a beautiful finish and handle wrap and came extremely sharp! I’ve bought about 6 swords from various vendors now and this was easily the sharpest I’ve ever received. Great job on that, Kult of Athena.

On the other hand, the sword I got was bent/twisted a bit near the end of the blade right past where the fuller ends. Wouldn’t make much of a difference in combat or just backyard cutting as the defect is above the resonant cutting section of the blade. Still disappointed in the defect as I hold out my sword, look down the blade and see that twist but… what do you expect for < $200?
