This late Viking age sword clearly shows the transition between the characteristic swords of the Vikings to a form more recognizable as the early Medieval arming sword. The guard is simple, but effective and the wide pommel has transformed into a elongated brazil nut form. The blade however retains that wide, spatulate-tip form more reminiscent of the Viking swords. The blade for this one is thick edged and blunted for safety and durability for the repetitive steel-on-steel contact of stage and sport combat. The thick blade is duable and tempered with enough flex for resilience. The blade is forged from C60 high carbon steel and is robustly peened into a hilt with a steel guard and pommel. The grip is wood with a tight binding of leather.

Included with the sword is a high quality wood core scabbard is wrapped in leather and completed with a wooden suspension loop for a baldric or belt.
