The Del Tin 13th Century Medieval Type XIV Sword is based on a famous example housed in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, and dated to the 2nd half of the 13th century. This classic example of the 13th century knightly sword has a blade of tough Chrome-Vanadium high carbon steel with an overall tempered hardness of 50 HRc. The guard is antique-finished steel and the pommel is finely cast from solid bronze with the inscription ‘Sunt hic etiam sua praecuna laudi” (Here also are the Heralds of His Praise). The grip is crafted from wood and wrapped in leather and the blade is anchored into the hilt with a peen on the pommel.

Great Sword I bought this sword a few months back and have been very pleased with it. It has been peened roughly but I don’t mind since I prefer function over aesthetics and functionaly I couldn’t hope for a better sword.

    2. Reynard

I got this sword as a gift a few years back and I cannot say I was overwhelmed by its quality. For one the blade was badly finished with the fuller showing uneven finish on both sides along most of its length. The handle and the pommel were good and it was pinned right. However, the balance is terrible and it is ridiculously heavy for a sword of this size at well over 3 lb. The weight for this length should not be exceeding 2.5 lb.

    3. Jeremiah Woodall

For Reynard – dude, it sounds like a good quality sword. Arming swords do not balance like a saber at the hilt, the blade is much heavier. These are not show weapons, the fuller will be imperfect, and the blade rough.
