This Close Helm is crafted from 18 gauge steel; the faceplate of the helm has a two-part hinged construction and the wearer can opt to raise only the top half, or the entire faceplate altogether. Like all closed helms, the entire front half the helm can be hinged open, allowing the helm to be placed around the head of the wearer and secured closed with a side hook.

The interior of the helm is blackened and lined with a leather suspension liner that can be adjusted to best fit the head. A leather chin strap with an antiqued brass buckle complete the helm.

Please Note: Helmet Stand is not included.

    1. Benton Pellet

Awesome Helmet! Loving this helm, I was really trying to be objective and think of some negatives, and I was able to come up with a few, but all in all this is a marvellous helmet. The top visor section stays up great, offering fantastic visibility, however the bottom visor wont stay up on its own, which personally isn’t an issue. This is excellent for LARP or any other application, I’m just not too certain about SCA or other full contact sports. The gauge may not be ideal, and the segmented visor may be an issue as it can’t be fixed downwards. Light modification could easily solve this, and I’m not a SCA or full contact sportsman, just a LARPer so it may not be a big deal at all. Just covering my bases.

All in all it’s a fantastic, comfortable helm, the articulation on the gorget allows for a good degree of head movement which is marvellous. Not to mention you can’t go wrong for 100 dollars.

      Comfortable
      Comes with padding
      Good neck support
      looks badass

      Cons:
      Very Heavy
Sometimes visor doesn’t close all the way
