This classically styled Swept-Hilt Rapier is as beautiful as it is deadly in the duel. Its hilt matches the dimensions of the museum piece it was based on to ensure excellent and well optimized dimensions and an authentic weight, feel and presence in the hand. The long blade is flex-tempered and forged from 1566 high carbon steel which has been sharpened. It is an agile sword and easy to point and strike at distance. The hilt is crafted from stainless steel and the grip is smoothly polished bone.

The blade can be swapped out with the Hanwei “Practical” sparring blade (OH2255) and the original blade can be replaced with the OH2327 blade if needed. Included with the sword is a hard core scabbard which is completed with a tight leather wrap and stainless steel fittings.

Our Renaissance-inspired rapiers hearken back to early 17th-century Europe – a time when mastering the rapier was a key part of a gentleman’s upbringing. The blades typically hailed from renowned swordmaking centers like Toledo or Solingen, though the variety in hilt designs and materials sprang from local craftsmanship from skilled cutlers who tailored the complex hilt designs to match customer preference and wealth.
