Mainstay of the Highland warriors of the late 15th and 16th centuries, the Claymore had a uniquely styled hilt that set it apart from other great swords of the period. Typically of hand-and-a-half length, this versatile weapon could deliver great sweeping slashes or powerful thrusts. Replicated from a surviving museum piece, The Paul Chen / Hanwei Scottish Claymore is classic in its design, with distinctive sloping steel quillons terminating in quatrefoils and a high-collared quillon block with langets following the blade fuller. Features a sharpened carbon steel blade and leather-covered grip topped by a steel globate pommel. This antiqued version features blackened hardware and and aged finish on the blade.

Good sword for the price, and one of the few affordable claymores out there. See my full review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-OYWGambyc

Great sword Awesome sword for the price, the antiqued finish looks pretty authentic. Had some black blemish on the blade, but still good value for the price. Would definitely recommend.

bad ass This sword is awsome it’s tough well balanced and pretty historically accurate my only complaint is it’s a bit heavy but it’s a lot of sword

Great price for a great sword (Get it “great sword”) Hardly a bad thing to say. For a large sword it doesn’t feel heavy everything balances out, every thing is very solid and well built. The peen is rough but looks good for the antiqued version. The only bad thing I can say is that in the small gap of the guard where the sword fits there appears to be epoxy but I bought this second hand tho I believe it may be standard. It does not effect the construction. I highly recommend this sword. It has helped me cling to the 25% of my Scottish ancestry.

Incredible piece of weaponry. After wanting to buy this sword for years I finally gave in and ordered it.
You really cannot ask for a better Claymore for this price. Hanwei is a trustworthy brand and they came through %100 with this weapon.
Its fiercely sized but feels amazing and maneuverable in your hands. I could play with this sword all day , makes me feel like a kid! I got the antiqued version and I love the real gritty look to it. I couldn’t ask for more for the price I paid although I would’ve loved if it had a scabbard.
The fact that its a historical replica from a sword in a museum really sold it to me as well. If you’re looking for a high end battle ready Claymore that doesn’t try to be too gaudy and doesn’t break your bank account , then pick this up! Thanks for bringing me back to my love of swords Hanwei.

Claymore King This sword is fantastic for the price. Hanwei never disappoints. This is my second sword by them. The brown grip is very nice leather. The antiqued finish of the blade is perfect for rust protection. All I do is oil it up every year or so. It is obviously a heavier sword and the balance is pretty good. If an opponent was unarmored, this replica Claymore would be the ideal weapon in an open combat situation. A wonderful sword that fits the bill for reenactments or a great conversation pierce on your wall!

Perfectly fine without the sharpening service.
This behemoth is built like a tank and is an absolute UNIT of a sword.
5/5 absolutely recommend for a budget “greatsword”.
The finish isn’t really that dark and the sharpening service shouldn’t ruin the looks.
Recommend dusting up some old cloth or gloves and rubbing down the guard and pommel for that extra aged look.

Trash. Trash. Trash. Breaks below guard hilt. Like a twig. Save your face and money. They nearly stabbed my face. When they broke like twigs.

My first sword, and I love it. It feels solid, and it looks great. The antiquated finish is a great touch. I haven’t done any cutting, but it’s somewhat sharp on arrival and feels like it could definitely do some work.

First real sword buy, and I must say it looks very nice; a simple design with plenty of detail. The antique look definitely adds personality to this blade, and it looks much better in person than in the images shown. The blade is fairly heavy, and it sags when I hold the sword flat. That being said, it seems to return straight when held on edge or any other position. There is a bit of a gap around the blade at the cross guard but nothing moves when swinging it around. There’s also a pin higher up on the cross guard that goes through the blade for extra support. The reason I’m giving this sword 4 stars is simply because I was ambushed by an extra $111.10 from shipping and a foreign transaction fee because I live in Canada.

Overall, it seems like a nice functional great sword.

I bought this Claymore, sharpened, a beautiful and good quality sword by the looks of it. Perhaps if I didn’t buy it from here, though. I paid over $100 in shipping and it was thrown in transit and arrived damaged. I opened the box and found that the heavy, sharpened blade was only protected by a small piece of plastic at the tip and the rest of the blade was wrapped in paper. Somewhere along the way, it unsurprisingly pierced through this protection and the box, and the tip of the blade got damaged. Not only is this bad news for me, but also dangerous to anyone handling these packages. I’m absolutely shocked they would package a sword this large and this sharp so loosely.

When I contacted customer service about it, they requested I send it back in its original packaging and it must arrive in the same condition I received it or I can take a $45 discount… First of all, how? Your packaging wasn’t good enough and now it’s even worse, the “protective” tip is ruined! If I knew it was packed this poorly, I would have never purchased from you in the first place. Second, you’re going to get someone hurt or worse! Especially if you’re asking me to send it back like this. I’ll keep the sword. You lost a customer.

Hi John – I am very sorry you had a bad experience and that the point of your scabbard has a small dent. We ship 1000’s of a swords a year and thankfully this is a rare occurrence. I have reviewed the pictures you sent, including the dent in the scabbard and the condition of the box. I can say that our off of a $45 refund and your ability to keep the item was a fair offer.
