The Honshu Broadsword melds time-tested design with modern material and construction to create a modern reinvention of classic medieval sword design. The sharpened blade is 1060 high carbon steel which is durably mounted into a hilt with a steel crossguard and pommel and a modern no-slop moisture-resistant grip of robust thermoplastic rubber. The sword comes with a scabbard of black-finished wood which is completed with a stainless steel chape and a leather belt hanger.

The sword fells good and balanced in your hands seems well built. I paid for sharpening but when arrived it didn’t seem as sharp as I was expecting it to be but sharp enough to use as a mele weapon when sh!t goes down.

Love it! I was actually wanting to get the single-handed bastard sword of theirs due to what I’ve seen of it on Shadiversity, but thought that if that one turned out to be so good, why not go ahead and try this one. Not disappointed. I got the factory edge, and it is very sharp. I’ve actually found that the extra sharpening doesn’t pay. Most swords I’ve gotten “factory edge” are more than sharp enough and ready to refine and this factory edge is easily paper-cutting sharp, zinging straight through water bottles. Unlike some other persons, I do like the tactical grip. At least half the swords I’ve purchased are of the tactical/modern variety. I prefer that since I actually plan on using them. I usually throw friction tape over them anyway. Fit and finish was great. Fittings tight. Nice blade, very pristine. It is a bit heavy when wielding one-handed but it’s not impossible and there’s plenty of handle for two-handed use. Still looking forward to getting the single-handed version. Sometimes I can’t believe the price on these. A great buy for those looking for a modern take on a classic European sword.
