The Honshu Broadsword melds time-tested design with modern material and construction to create a modern reinvention of classic medieval sword design. The sharpened blade is crafted from Damascus steel which was skillfully and artfully folded by the bladesmith to produce the vibrant ripple-like patterning seen throughout the blade. The blade is durably mounted into a hilt with an antiqued steel crossguard and pommel and a modern no-slop moisture-resistant grip of robust thermoplastic rubber. The sword comes with a scabbard of black-finished wood which is completed with a antiqued stainless steel chape and a leather belt hanger.

Please Note: This product tends to have a slightly loose guard and it is a common enough issue that it cannot be considered a defect and is representative of standard level of quality.

Sword is amazing. I’m not sure what a sword’s weight is supposed to feel like, as an amateur, but I’d say it’s comfortably balanced and it’s weight is centered the midway point between the pommel and the tip of the blade itself. It’s sharpened out the gate very nicely, and the tactical grip feel is very nice. Tested on some pumpkins and tree branches and it keeps its edge nicely. Only complaint would be that the metal tip of the scabbard is very simply glued on. Leave it anywhere that gets too warm and it’ll pop right off.

This is my first sharp and my first purchase here. I am extremely happy with the quality. This is an extrmely well made sword for the price range. The polyurethane grip I haven’t seen on many historical sword frames, but I love it. Its durable even compared to leather and corded grips. The sharpening was definitely worth it and I received it relatively quickly considering the sharpening team was on vacation during order processing. I would absolutely buy this exact sword again if I needed to replace it for some reason. Again, for the price range, I cant spot any imperfections other than a minor spot on the crossguard that is easily polished out, which is pretty impressive compared to the quality I would have accepted. 5 well-earned stars on this little gem.
