The Musashi Asahina Katana has a tsuba in the form of the Mitsudomoe is a key symbol of Shintoism and its three elements are said to represent Man, Earth and Sky. This symbol has an early association with the Shinto war god Hachiman and was thus regarded as an emblematic symbol for the Samurai and his spirit. The sharpened blade is forged from 1060 high carbon steel and was differentially-tempered in the traditional clay-tempering method to give it an edge of hardened steel which is denoted by the wave-like hamon pattern along the edge.

The tsuba is crafted from iron and the fuchi and kashira hilt components are blackened brass. The seppa and habaki are bright brass and the wooden grip has panels of inlaid rayskin and a wrap of black cotton cord tsuka-ito to complete the sword. The matching saya scabbard is carved from wood and finished with a glossy black lacquer and the sageo is of black cotton cord. Included is a cloth sword bag and a serialized production certificate from the forge.
