This Imperial Roman Gallic G Helm is crafted from 18 gauge steel; it is embellished with brass edging and ornamented accenting. This helmet comes with a separate horsehair crest and a brass crest holder. When the crest is fitted atop the helm it can be tied down and stabilized by utilizing the brass hook-like fittings atop the helm and the included leather cords.

The hinged cheekplates are fitted with two integrated rings that can be used to tie a chin strap onto (chin strap not included). The interior of the helmet is blackened and unlined – included with the helm is a separate padded cotton arming cap.

The crest placement can be converted from a front to back crest to a transverse crest by swapping out the included crest holder with a transverse crest holder (not included – must be purchased separately). A transverse crest can be tied down and secured to two holes fitted through the dome rivets at the base of the helm visor.

Just received this item (on a decent sale). It looks good and is historically accurate but is too large. I have a medium/large (average) head for a man and I have about an inch between my temples and the insides of the helmet. The front to back measurement is great however. Just wish it didn’t look so silly.

Edit: I’m trying to give this 3 stars but it won’t let me change from 1 star
