The blade is forged from high quality and well tempered 1095 steel and was traditionally clay tempered to imbue it with a genuine notare hamon; the hardness of the blade is 55 HRc and the body is 40 HRc. The tsuba, fuchi and kashira are blackened brass and the habaki and seppa are of silver. The lacquer blackened rayskin is wrapped in genuine leather tsuka ito cord. The saya scabbard is well carved and is finished with a black matte lacquer and polished buffalo horn koiguchi and sayajiri.
PLEASE NOTE: There may be some minor to moderate cosmetic blemishing present on the scabbard and minor blemishing on the blade. These are handcrafted and hand-finished so minor cosmetic imperfections may be present.
