Once wielded in the First Age by the the elf Ecthelion of Gondolin, this elvish blade accomplished the legendary deed of slaying the baleful Gothmog, foremost of the Balrogs. Lost to time after Gondolin’s demise it was inauspiciously found by Thorin Oakenshield and the Company of Dwarves within a troll hoard ages later. Dubbed Orcrist meaning ”Goblin-Cleaver” in Sindarin, the blade has been the last sight of untold numbers of orcs and goblins who fearfully call the sword ”Biter”. Forged with the magic and craftsmanship of the elves of the West, the exquisite bladewould glow with pale blue light whenever goblinkind drew near.

The pommel bears the heraldric seal of Ecthelion’s ”House of the Fountain” represented with four diamonds. The hilt was fashioned from a dragon’s tooth and the hilt and blade bears this runic inscription:

    ”Goblin-Cleaver
    The serpents tooth
Born from the maws of dragons
I am always hungry and thirsty.”

This United Cutlery replica of Thorin’s sword is made with a stainless steel blade. The grip is made from a acrylic resin and faux gemstones adorn the pommel. The guard and pommel are made of steel. The sword comes with a wooden plaque, adorned wiith gold accents bearing the seal of the House of the Fountain. It comes with mounting hardware and a certificate of authenticity.

ORCRIST Received the sword as advertised shipped in a very protective outer box. Was notified when it was shipped and when it was going to be delivered. This is the first time i have ordered over the internet with a web site, and now i am planning on buying about five more items from them .
