This reproduction of a late 13th Century Knight’s Quillon Dagger has a distinctive appearance, very much mimicking a larger knightly sword, but reduced in size to a dagger scale. It takes its design from a variety of sources, the most influential one being a dagger owned by Anglo / Scottish Lord Alexander Balliol at around 1280. The blade is quite wide with a flattened diamond cross section which is fullered at the base of the blade. The blade is forged from tempered EN45 high carbon steel and the grip and pommel are of steel. The grip is polished, carved ash wood and the blade tang is stoutly peened over the pommel. The dagger is paired with a scabbard of high quality vegetable tanned leather in a stitched double layer construction which is completed with a brass cap and integrated leather lacing for wear.
