Valiant Armoury Craftsman Series – The Bristol

The Craftsman Series Bristol was entirely made by Zach and Sonny Suttles in the Valiant Armoury workshop in the USA and is a fine example of a late Medieval cut-and-thrust arming sword which masterfully melds utilitarian design needs with dignifying lines. The fluted fish tail pommel and upswept crossguard may look stylish at a glance but both also serve to give the swordsman a practical edge to best his foe.

The well-tempered blade is fashioned from 6150 high carbon steel with a sharp, honed edge. The crossguard and pommel are steel and the blade is securely anchored into the hilt with a permanent and robust hot peen assembly. The well-formed grip is carved wood which was overlaid in a skillful wrap of tightened leather.
