This sword takes its name from the French Knight Sir John De Joinville; a devout and devoted knight to church and his King, St. Louis, De Joinville did a valorous deed of arms in the 7th Crusade when after having lost his lance, he used his sword in the manner of a lance, tucking it into his arm and felling a Saracen from his mount.

This sword which is well suited for the thrust with its narrowed tip takes it name from De Joinville’s feat with its tempered and sharpened blade of 1065 high carbon steel. The guard and pommel are of antique-finished steel and the grip is stained hardwood. The blade is secured into the pommel with a peen over the pommel and the sword is finished with a leather sheath with matching antiqued steel fitttings.
