The Shinobi Tanto from BattleBlades is a gorgeous, premium tier Tanto that makes a great companion piece for the Shinobi Shoto Waki, but is a fine piece on its own and itself a compact showcase of traditional bladesmithing and craftsmanship. The blade is quite rigid, stiff and with a thick spine and well capable of piercing deeply through thick clothing or the weaker parts of armor – clearly a fine sidearm for a swift-striking Shinobi. The hand-sharpened blade is forged from 1095 high carbon steel which has a vibrant and very visible hamon brought out in its full beauty with a quality mirror polish.
The habaki and seppa are brass and the hardwood tsuka has genuine rayskin overlaid in a ito wrap of finest grade silk. its fuchi and kashira are blackened, glossy iron and blackened menuki beneath the ito folds finishes the tanto to completion. The wooden saya feautures a full wrap of quality samegawa rayskin which has been blackened and surmounted by kurikata, koiguchi and kojiri fittings of polished buffalo horn. The sword comes with a silk bag for storage and transport and also included is the manufacturers production certificate.
