This broad-bladed sword with its prominent cross motif is sized and styled for the gauntlet-clad hands of a professional warrior of the knightly monastic orders such as the Templars, Teutonic Knights, the Knights Hospitaller and more. Large and wide bladed, a sword of this type is meant to be held in two hands and used for powerful cuts, chops and sweeping cuts. The blade is forged from C60 high carbon steel (similar to 1060 high carbon steel) with a tempered hardness of 48-52 HRc. The crossguard and pommel are crafted from steel and the grip is wood with a premium leather and cord binding for a sure and comfortable grip. The pommel has its recesses filled with smooth black enamel for a sharply contrasting flourish to complete the sword.

Included is a wood core scabbard which is wrapped in tightly stitched leather and richly and painstakingly embellished by hand with a late medieval floral motif. The buckles and chape are made from antique-finished brass and the buckles can be used to attach the sword and scabbard to your own sword belt. You may have to make or modify your own hangers from leather and an inspiration for that design can be found here with the hangers found on this sword: https://www.kultofathena.com/product/11th-century-viking-sword-2/
