A truly ancient sword design, the Egyptian Khopesh dates to about 2500 BC; Originally a Canaanite design, the Khopesh may have evolved from the crescent axes common in the region. The weapon enjoyed some prestige, as a number of royal Egyptian tombs have been found with high quality Khopesh swords entombed within.

The sickle-like blade design of the Khopesh makes it a very capable chopping and slicing sword and this reproduction has a blade of 420 stainless steel with a sharpened edge. The spine of the blade is thick and robust and the blade and grip core are formed from a single billet of steel for maximum durability.

The grip is crafted from two brass-riveted wood halves fitted to the thick blade tang. The sword is paired with a leather sheath with an integrated belt loop and brass buttoned retaining straps. The leather strap with adjustable buckle allow it to be worn on the back as well.

The ancient Khopesh was typically made from bronze or iron, but this reproduction has a blade of modern, pure steel which allows for cutting practitioners to appreciate and experience the fierce capabilities of this ancient design without the drawbacks typical of bronze or iron.

    1. William R.

Love it. Had this beautiful sword since Monday and i love it.

Pros: 2 Pounds, Full-Tang, Sharp, I can two-hand it with my big hands.

      Cons: None.

I am tempted to buy another one. What i would like to see is a full length version made with a 24″ blade like the original Khopesh with a Very Sharp edge also 1095 high carbon steel i would buy it even if it costed $350-$400.

Beautiful sword, excellent cutter, very durable. Got this as a birthday present and it has done nothing but impress

Absolutely love it. Cuts amazingly and is super sharp. I love the tip/end of the blade it stabs/cuts in to things so easily. One of my favorites

Looks amazing. I ordered the standard grade while it was on sale, it came with 3 big blotches/slight warps that don’t come off and seem to be caused by heat or polishing. The edge is pretty sharp but a part of it was blue from overheating while grinding it I’m guessing. Not too knowledgeable on these issues but they make the blade look pretty bad.

Happy with the Khopesh, nice handle, and sheath. Can’t complain about 1090 steel. FedEx shipping was ab nightmare, will think hard if I order again if they are still using FedEx.

When I get munitions grade products, I temper my expectations accordingly — It has been several days now and I’m still trying to find the flaw that landed it munitions grade.

      Pros:
-Exceptionally durable. Might as well be made of adamantium. I used it for seriously heavy duty yard work, including clearing entangled dead wood branches, and the edge was completely unaffected. I got a small chip off the edge only when I hit a well hidden rock while overswinging (something I try to avoid); The rock took more damage.
      -Scares superstitious people away
-Surprisingly nimble despite being front heavy; Easy to use in one hand, yet it leaves just enough real estate on the handle to use two handed effectively.
      -Has a scabbard that exists
-Absorbs your soul for additional unholy damage

      Cons:
-Scabbard has a lot of buttons that make it annoying to sheath and unsheathe. Would be better if it had two large buckles instead of a bunch of tiny snap points. Unsheathing isn’t too bad, but sheathing is very annoying, with the buckles recoiling back asking to be sliced off as I try to slide it in. But it is entirely extra anyway.
-FedEx sucks hard; The package was delayed for ‘bad weather’ in a notorious package choke point where ‘bad weather’ is code for ‘not enough employees’. Again, not the fault of the blade or KoA.
