Wielded with untamed ferocity on many a Gaelic battlefield, the massive Lowlander sword vividly illustrates the might of the Scots of old. Known as ”Slaughter-Swords” in the 16th century, these were the swords of choice for Scottish mercenaries of the period, and at close to six feet long the Lowlander faithfully replicates a surviving museum piece.

Please Note: This is a very large sword, so to keep the shipping costs reasonable it ships unassembled. Final assembly will be required.

A whoooooole lotta sword….. I did a review of the standard shiny version, which I am lucky to own. This antiqued model could very well be hanging on a castle wall or propped up with a suit of armor. This version has a slightly more sinister appearance than the regular version. (NOTHING can be called ‘regular’ about these swords.) This model has all the same features as the shiny version, but with all the same virtues and a nice looking antique job to boot. Watch the video under the shiny version….and be prepared to be amazed. McM

Badass Just received it today and it is one badass beast of a sword. I’ve seen reviews that claim loose fittings, none of that here. Not an albion of course but nothing wrong with it. Had a good tool style edge on it, no secondary bevel, not a razor but then, I don’t plan on shaving with it either. Cut cleanly through the box it came in and three milk jugs without even blinking. For $300 you ain’t gonna find a better great sword!

Very good for its price While not a fan of the textured antique finish on the blade, it doesn’t affect the cutting performance.
The black finish on the crossguard and pommel wears easily (but honestly it looks beter that way).
Weight and weight distribution are good for its size but it’s just a bit blade heavy, still light enough for (slow) montante practice or similar, although the long grip might get in the way.
Tang construction is not ideal, it looks welded halfway down and while it’s strong enough for solo practice and light cutting I wouldn’t trust it with heavier targets.
Overall I’m very happy with it

Pretty awesome sword! Feels well balanced, grip is quite nice, moderately sharp. Has some imperfections, but no big deal. Only issues were that I did not receive an antiqued version when I had ordered this, and also the tip was bent and not repairable presumably from shipping. Otherwise, great value for the price
