Italian Arming Dagger

This dagger with its long and tapered thrusting blade is of a design that would be fit to be hung at the hip of a knight, or noble of the late 14th and 15 century who would want an efficient, yet elegant sidearm. The blade is of high carbon steel and the guard and pommel are of steel. The grip is of carved wood. The dagger comes with a leather sheath with steel fittings.

This dagger with a long, slender blade is strengthened by its heightened spine – ideal for a puncturing weapon as this large and rigid spine will impart more of the force of the thrust into its target than a thinner and more flexible blade. The blade is long enough to make it a fitting sidearm for the well-heeled late medieval warrior. The flared grip fits nicely into that palm and contours of the hand.
