This elaborately styled Bollock dagger is based on a historical example which is housed within the Rothenburg collection in Germany. The original late medieval dagger is dated 1450 – 1480 and is of Northern Italian origin. Its intricate and finely crafted form make it likely that the dagger belonged to wealthy knight, noble or well-heeled burgher. Not merely an item of status the blade with its thin profile and stiffened diamond cross section was ideal for piercing through thick cloaks and cloth and for penetrating past the weak points and gaps in an armored harness.

The blade of this reproduction is crafted from high carbon steel and it is securely mounted into a hilt of skillfully carved and polished wood. The embellished guard plate and pommel cap are of antiqued brass. Included with the dagger is a sheath of thick and high quality vegetable tanned leather which is dyed a reddish brown hue and capped with a protective chape of antiqued brass. The sheath is finished with an adjustable leather hanging cord.

A nice dagger, all in all. The decorative metal work isn’t the greatest and there are some rough spots on the wood, but it looks pretty good overall. The blade is a wicked stabber, with KoA’s sharpening service, and just looks deadly. The sheath is better than I expected, and I am rather pleased with it, though I did trim the opening a bit for a better fit.

It’s a good product, kinda flashy and very cool. It’s light in the hand, and easy to grip, and very, very pointy. If your looking for a cheap bollock dagger that still kinda stylish, this one might be for you.

I concur with the previous review. Mine arrived with a loose decorative fitting on the edge of the handle. I will need to pry it off and apply adhesive. I realize that this isn’t an upper-echelon dagger- but I might consider competitors like Tod Stuff making a better quality weapon for just a tad more in price.
