The Tewkesbury Longsword is crafted with an unsharpened blade forged from EN45 high carbon steel. The hilt is mild steel and a wooden grip is fitted around the blade tang and over-wrapped in black leather. The pommel has a recessed Cross in the pommel on a single side. The sword is paired with a wood-core scabbard overlaid in black leather and fitted with a protective chape and locket of blued steel.

The broad blade of this longsword imparts both durability and powerful striking power. The grip and elongated pommel afford ample room to maneuver the hands for leverage.

Seems to be a nice solid Sword I have had this sword in my possession for the last few weeks. I have been doing some basic stance & guard transition practice with it. The sword arrived in good condition. The leather on the grip is wrapped tightly and has a good feel to it. The hilt did develop a slight loosening, but a quick shimmy with a thin piece of leather has seemed to solve that problem. The blade is absolutely unsharpened (which is perfect for training use), and the sword is balanced okay, slightly blade heavy. I was expecting a hex nut on the pommel, but it seems to be some type of cap covering the screw. I have no idea how to properly remove it in order to disassemble the hilt. I searched you tube, but found nothing. So if anyone could post the proper method it would be appreciated. All in all I think it is a great value.
